When a pet goes missing, the first hours matter most. Start by checking the immediate area: entrance, yard, basements, garages, park, places where the pet has hidden before and the route it usually takes. Speak with neighbours and leave them a short description.
Then prepare a clear report: pet name, species, city, exact location of disappearance, date, contact phone and a photograph. A short text is better than an overlong one. People react faster when they immediately see what is being looked for and whom to contact.
Notify veterinariansans, shelters, pet shops and local groups. If there is a microchip, check that contact details are up to date. The wider the notification network, the greater the chance that the right clue reaches the right place.
